WING NZ is the New Zealand chapter of WING Global

We represent academia, government, generators, students, direct use, service companies and more.

New Zealand was one of the founding members of WING in October 2013 and served as the global WING team until passing the baton to the USA in 2020.

Today, WING NZ is focused on making a meaningful impact here in Aotearoa New Zealand, with over 500 active members — 42% of whom are male, and 1% identify as gender diverse. Within Aotearoa, our members, allies, and partners form a collective voice that advocates for a more equitable, inclusive, and connected culture.

Women in Geothermal NZ is a volunteer, not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to promote the education, professional development, and advancement of women in the geothermal community.

We empower all people to break down barriers so that everyone in the geothermal sector can realise their full potential.

We do this through driving initiatives that uplift women and challenge the gender biases that are ingrained in our industry. This will result in the attraction, advancement and retention of exceptional talent by creating an environment where diversity of thought is celebrated and respected.

We work to empower everyone in the geothermal sector to break down barriers and reach their full potential.

Our initiatives uplift women and challenge ingrained gender biases across the industry — including through promotion of equitable policies and recruitment practices.

WING NZ also hosts events, webinars, and workshops to explore these themes and to provide valuable networking and professional development opportunities.

In late 2024, WING NZ took a significant step forward by registering as an Incorporated Society — a move that will support further growth and progress for our Chapter.
